    Responsibilities

    General Principles

    • Arcadia.io is seeking a technically savvy, detailed oriented relationship builder to lead our accounting team.
    • As Controller oversee and direct all accounting activities including:
      • Billing and revenue accounting; own 606 implementation and rev recognition
      • Cash management and collections
      • General accounting and financial reporting; consolidations; Point person for audits
      • Payroll
      • Income, state and local taxes, including sales and use tax compliance
    • In addition:
    • Develop, modify, and execute company policies and internal controls.
    • Report to the CFO. Collaborate with peer, Director of FPA.
    • Manage, mentor, and lead a team of four; roll up sleeves as a team member and contributor because that’s how we roll.
    • Broad exposure to and collaboration with members of the senior leadership team; provide direction to senior managers and sales colleagues on finance/ accounting / revenue recognition matters.
    • Manage equity/ cap table.
    • Assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
    • Assist with the preparation of Board reporting to VC and investor stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    What you need for this position

    • 10 -15 years of related work experience with increasing responsibility.
    • Prior controllership experience.
    • Software company experience.
    • Strong understanding of accounting technical matters, including revenue recognition and 606.
    • Strong managerial and team leadership capabilities in a fast growth environment; coupled with a roll up sleeves and pitch in approach.
    • Prior experience leading financial system implementations and enhancement solutions targeted at the lower middle market, including operationalizing 606 in the financial and billing systems.
    • BSBA in accounting.

    Strongly Preferred:

    • CPA/ MBA
    • National CPA firm audit experience.
    • Strong Netsuite, Adaptive Planning, SalesForce experience to: increase efficiencies and add new modules/ features/ enhancements/ functionality.
    • Lead the integrated implementation of Avalara sales tax application, and Carta equity software.
    • Later stage VC / growth equity / PE portfolio company experience.
